Ozzie is a peeing machine. It took me a long time to potty train him, but he finally got it. For the most part, he is really good about holding it at night. I think it's his way of loading up for our morning walk to mark his little territory. I only wish he could do the same while I'm at work. Every day I get home and he's waiting for me with a "big pee ready to come out". I oblige first thing, but that doesn't mean he hasn't already relieved himself on my favorite oriental rug. He is a good boy, though. If I put down pee pads, he tries really hard to aim perfectly. It's like a little game to him.
I have never seen such a little dog have such a big bladder. I have seen him lift his leg 52 times on our Saturday walk, with or without a drop of liquid. If he is unable to donate what he feels is sufficient, he begins "burping" the ground around him marking it the only way he can. The local crew of canines must give extra points for how high their aim or how far their pee travels away from where it was left. It sure seems that way on garbage day. In addition to checking all the "Pee-mail", trash cans are a favorite of his. Now, that says nothing for after a storm. The felled branches full of Spanish moss smell just like Fred. He hates that squirrel. I have seen him sniff a branch for fifteen minutes just to build up enough reserve to pee on it. That will serve you right, Fred! #ozzie #fred #michelenimtz
